50 First Dates: The Unexpected Return In London Shocks Movie Fans

Recently, social networks have been spreading information about a sequel to the famous romantic movie 50 First Dates (2004), even appearing with a detailed description of the script with the title  50 First Dates 2:

The Love Story Continues (2025), promising that Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore will return as Henry and Lucy, this time with a family story with their young daughter in Hawaii. This “leaked” content is also embellished with emotional details: Lucy faces a sudden change in her memory, Henry and his friends find a way to help her remember the life and love they built.

It sounds so attractive, but this is actually not a real project. There has been no confirmation from the studio, actors or directors about 50 First Dates 2 on the big screen.

What is actually happening is a stage musical called 50 First Dates: The Musical, scheduled to open in London in September 2025. The show is adapted from the spirit and story of the original film, recreating the colorful Hawaiian setting, combining love, humor and newly composed music. Audiences will witness the Henry – Lucy story through lively melodies, creative stage effects, and without the presence of Adam Sandler or Drew Barrymore.

According to the production unit, this will be a different experience: instead of sitting in front of the screen watching actors “act” a new story, viewers will “live” in the old story but with a completely new art form – singing, dancing, acting live right before their eyes.

Therefore, any information about a 50 First Dates 2 movie showing in theaters in 2025 is just a misunderstanding or a product of fans’ imagination. However, for those who love the original film, the upcoming West End musical still promises to bring familiar emotions, just through a different “lens”: music and theater.
