More than a decade after The Hangover (2009) took the box office by storm, audiences still can’t forget the crazy and funny adventures of “The Wolfpack”: Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) and Alan (Zach Galifianakis). Although the previous three parts have concluded the story quite completely, the question of a sequel is always lingering in the minds of fans. Recently, rumors about The Hangover 4 have once again stirred up the community.
If this hypothetical scenario becomes true, the film is expected to be the final adventure of “The Wolfpack” – full of absurd situations, unexpected twists and endless laughter. The story revolves around Alan suddenly inheriting a mysterious fortune, leading to a seemingly harmless “celebration” trip that quickly spirals out of control, leading the group into a series of troubles with quirky gangsters and an unexpected stop on a tropical island.
The appeal of The Hangover has never been just the chaos of the situations, but also the bond between the members of the group. The laughter is created from ironic misunderstandings mixed with warm moments, making the film not only a journey of chaos but also a story of friendship.
Interestingly, although there has been no confirmation, the main cast all expressed excitement. Bradley Cooper once said he would “do it right away” part 4 if director Todd Phillips and his co-stars agreed. However, Todd Phillips is currently focusing on other projects, especially Joker and Joker: Folie à Deux, making the possibility of returning to this comedy genre quite slim.
If The Hangover 4 is really released, this will be a golden opportunity to completely close the story of “The Wolfpack” in a way that both retains the inherent chaotic comedy and adds emotional depth to make a final mark. However, the fact that part 3 was built as a complete ending makes part 4 a double-edged sword: either creating a worthy new chapter, or becoming a shadow of the brand itself.
Currently, The Hangover 4 has not been confirmed for production. All information about the content and release date is just rumors and hypotheses from fans. Warner Bros. and Todd Phillips have not announced any official plans for this film.
